1 cigarette poem
paradise in a past life
Time went gonzo & left me with my thumb out in crosstown traffic
the entire canvas of todays sun married to tomorrows prospects
laced with binary calculations
i remember after the big bang, it all went digital
& left us with static
they dressed it up & called it progress
i lost many friends in the latch key/heroin addicted suburbia
it spread like a movement
by movement i mean, we grew up so fast my head still spins
i left adolescence a lot lighter than i started
no direction & no direct link between myself
& the axis we spin on
i remember simpler days
a simple haze
backyard football games
like paradise in a past life
