What Did Monroe Really Think

You had one of those posters of Marilyn Monroe
on your wall, not the one over a grate the wind blowing
up her skirt, the ends of her dress distracting us
from the look of pleasure on her face.
But one where she's lying down on a silk bed,
a little skin showing, eyes half shut, a slight smile
creeping up her lips, a look of complete satisfaction
of things happened or things to come.
